Latest VC Deal Flow In Early June 2024

• The Sandbox, a user-generated content metaverse platform, secured $20 million in convertible debt at a $1 billion valuation, led by Kingsway Capital and Animoca Brands, with participation from LG Tech Ventures and True Global Ventures.

• XOCIETY, a gaming metaverse combining science fiction and fantasy into an MMORPG and third-person shooter, secured $7.5 million in Pre-series A funding. The funding was led by Hashed and SUI.

• TRALA, a GameFi platform on zkSync, has successfully secured $5 million in funding. This Web3 gaming platform attracted investment from prominent backers, including Matter Labs (zkSync), Animoca Brands, Gate.io, and 14 other global investors.

• Supervillain Labs, a Web3 game studio focused on socially interactive games ranging from hyper-casual to MMORPGs, has successfully closed a $4.5 million seed round. The investment was co-led by Aptos Labs and Neowiz's Intella X, with additional participation from Spartan Group, KIP-CRIT Interactive Contents Fund, Presto Labs, and Planetarium Labs.

Illuvium's Big Day: July 25th Launch with New Features and Rewards

Illuvium has revealed the official launch date for its much-anticipated blockchain game. The game is set to go live on July 25th, promising an immersive experience for all players. This announcement follows a series of successful play-to-airdrop campaigns, starting with Private Beta 4 on April 30th and continuing with the open beta test net, which began on May 28th.

The development team has decided to delay the release slightly to add several new features. One of the highlights is the Arena mode, which will introduce Gauntlet Mode and a new weapons system. Overworld mode will bring in combat, NPC interactions, economy adjustments, character customization, and a revamped Forge user experience.
